Full Spectrum Social Volunteer Director, Role Description Grow and Accelerate

Full Spectrum Social is seeking to fill three (3) open positions on the Board of Directors. In this position, directors will take a decisive leadership role to bring forth growth and acceleration to our organization; leveling up Full Spectrum Social as a registered charity. With our fast-growing member support over the last several years, the interest in our events has grown to such a degree that we need help to fund and expand our activity base. We hope that everyone with the skills and experience to support our goals feels welcome to apply and that our board reflects the large diversity of our group members. What we do Our purpose is to create space for Autistic adults to connect and build community. Full Spectrum Social is dedicated to supporting the well-being of the Autistic community by fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment for individuals on the autism spectrum. Our commitment is grounded in the values of Authenticity, Autonomy, and Kindness, which form the cornerstone of our charitable activities. Through shared experiences, outings, and the fostering of an environment of understanding and acceptance, we aim to create a supportive community that celebrates the uniqueness and talents of its members. We firmly believe in the power of community support to positively impact the lives of Autistic people. By breaking down barriers and reducing stigma, we contribute to a more inclusive society that celebrates the unique talents and abilities of all its members. As a Director, you will take on the following responsibilities:

• Join the Board of Directors to collaboratively plan, enhance and direct organizational activities

• Participate in determining short-term and long-term goals for the organization
• Participate in executing plans to achieve progress towards organizational goals
• Help develop policies and procedures
• Attend regular Board of Directors meetings
• Participate in training for board members

• Find grant opportunities and create grant submissions
• Plan fundraising activities
• Connect with group members and volunteers
• Connect with local partner agencies

• From there, we will schedule an in-person interview
• Candidates will receive a follow-up email within fourteen (14) days of their

interview Our mission is to create space for Autistic adults to connect and build community. In these spaces, we promote authenticity, autonomy, and kindness. As part of this mission, we have a zero-tolerance policy regarding ableism, racism, homophobia, sexism, transphobia, fatphobia and other forms of discrimination. Furthermore, leaders are encouraged to consider the needs of marginalized groups and be proactive in making them feel comfortable and welcome at our events.
