Unpaid Volunteer Position

The Digital Media Support Volunteer will support our Marketing & Communications team by editing raw photo and video footage into polished, professional-quality materials that support our marketing efforts. Additionally, you will help organize and catalog media files, ensuring all assets are stored systematically and are easily accessible for future use.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Edit raw footage (both photo and video) to create polished materials ready for use in marketing campaigns. Enhance photos and videos through adjustments to colour, lighting, cropping and other necessary edits.
  • Assist in preparing edited media for use in various formats, such as social media, web or print materials.
  • Ensure all footage is uploaded to the server in the appropriate folders for easy access. Name footage files systematically and appropriately for clarity and consistency.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficient in tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premiere Pro.
  • Ability to edit and enhance raw footage to create professional-quality materials.
  • Knowledge of organizing, naming, and tagging digital files for easy access and retrieval. Familiarity with best practices for data backup and secure storage of media files is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrates a strong sense of aesthetics, composition, and storytelling in visual media.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.

TIME COMMITMENT:

Ongoing opportunity with flexible scheduling (~5 hours a month but may be more or less depending on the needs of the month).

LOCATION:

Remote (any day) OR Second Harvest Office at 120 The East Mall, Etobicoke, ON (Tuesdays only) **Note: If working remotely, volunteers must have access to the Adobe suite
