Unpaid Volunteer Position

The Digital Marketing & Events Coordinator will lead Rafiki Bridge’s digital presence and support the coordination of program events for projects and campaigns in Toronto, ensuring strong visibility, participant sign-ups, and smooth on-the-ground event support.

Key Responsibilities
Digital Marketing & Communications

  • Manage Rafiki Bridge’s social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Create and schedule digital content (posts, stories, captions, basic graphics)
  • Design banners, flyers, posters, brochures, and digital assets on Canva, Adobe Pro (with guidance from the ED)
  • Support recruitment of participants through digital campaigns and community-facing content
  • Manage sign-up forms and registration lists for workshops and public events
  • Support targeted digital ad campaigns and online outreach
  • Support post-event follow-ups and thank-you communications
  • Track basic engagement metrics (reach, clicks, sign-ups)

Event Coordination

  • Support logistical coordination for workshops and public events
  • Assist with event planning and run-of-show
  • Coordinate photographer and videographer schedules
  • Support on-site registration and participant flow
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of event materials
  • Coordinate with volunteers and facilitators as needed

Required Skills & Experience

  1. Experience or studies in digital marketing, communications, or community outreach
  2. Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva or similar tools)
  3. Strong organizational and time-management skills
  4. Comfortable engaging community members in person and online
  5. Experience supporting events or community programs
  6. Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  7. Culturally responsive and trauma-informed approach
  8. Experience working with Black and immigrant communities is an asset but not a must

This role is suitable for students or early-career professionals

Must be able to attend in-person workshops in Toronto once per month

Contract Period: March – December 2026
Time Commitment: 10–15 hours per week
Work Format: Hybrid (remote + in-person for events/workshops)
