About CIVIX

CIVIX is a national charity dedicated to building the habits of active and informed citizenship among school-aged youth. Our programs provide hands-on learning experiences that equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to participate in democracy. Responsibilities will include:

  • Communications & Outreach – Contribute to the dissemination of communications to various audiences, contact schools and/or school boards by phone and email, and support efforts to increase participation in CIVIX programs.
  • Teacher Support – Communicate with registered teachers on an ongoing basis via phone and email, providing guidance and assistance with program implementation.
  • Administration – Assist with research, evaluation activities, reporting and general office administration as required.

This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is passionate about politics, youth engagement, and education. We're looking for a creative communicator who enjoys producing compelling digital content and helping organizations connect with their audiences.

  • Creative & Design-Oriented – You have an eye for visual storytelling and experience creating graphics, videos or other digital content for online audiences.
  • Social Media Savvy – You understand how different social media platforms work and can create engaging content tailored to each audience.
  • Strong Communicator – You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and can craft compelling messages for a variety of audiences.

  • Collaborative & Adaptable – You enjoy working as part of a small team and are comfortable taking on a variety of responsibilities.
  • Technical Skills – Experience with graphic design software (such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar), video editing tools, social media management platforms, website content management systems, or digital analytics tools is considered a strong asset.
  • A background in communications, graphic design, digital media, journalism, education, political science or a related field is an asset, but not required.
  • Bilingualism (English & French) is preferred, but not required.

Note: Because CIVIX is a non-partisan organization, employees are expected to maintain political neutrality in their work. Relevant political activities or affiliations should be disclosed during the interview process.
