About the Position

The Alzheimer Society of BC and Yukon is creating a dynamic new Development Officer position to help build a stronger future for South Asian communities impacted by dementia by deepening relationships and philanthropic engagement. This opportunity is for someone energized by building relationships, inspiring philanthropy, and bringing people together around a cause that matter—and excited to build something new and make their mark.

In this role, the Development Officer will connect the Society’s mission with South Asian community leaders, organizations, businesses, media, donors, volunteers, and other champions. Through these relationships, the Development Officer will deepen awareness, encourage earlier connection to culturally relevant support and services, and inspire philanthropy. The Development Officer will establish and grow a community-focused fundraising portfolio, identifying opportunities to engage supporters and cultivate relationships that can evolve into meaningful partnerships, sponsorships, community-led fundraising, and philanthropic support. This will include engaging supporters through existing fundraising initiatives and events, such as the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s, presented by Go Auto, and the Anything for Alzheimer’s third-party fundraising platform, while also exploring and developing new opportunities for community engagement and philanthropy.

Reporting to the Director, Philanthropy, the Development Officer will work collaboratively across the Resource Development department and in close partnership with the Community Services and Marketing & Communications teams. The role will contribute to donor cultivation and stewardship, community engagement, and integrated fundraising initiatives, bringing a community-informed perspective to the Society’s fundraising efforts and helping ensure its approach resonates with South Asian communities.

This is an opportunity to shape a new area of fundraising, build lasting connections, and help grow a community of supporters inspired to advance the mission of the Alzheimer Society of BC and Yukon.
