The opportunity

Kids Help Phone Foundation is seeking a Development Officer, Regional Philanthropy & Partnerships to help inspire generosity and raise funds across Canada to deliver on KHP’s promise to youth.
Reporting to the Director, Regional Philanthropy & Partnerships, the successful candidate will lead community-based fundraising initiatives across Western Canada, building and stewarding relationships with corporate partners, foundations, community organizations, municipal governments, donors, and sponsors. This role drives revenue through national and community events, independent fundraising initiatives, corporate cause-marketing, employee engagement, and major gift opportunities, including grant writing and proposal development. The responsibilities
- Lead community-based fundraising initiatives across Western Canada, including national, regional, and independent events.
- Cultivate, steward, and grow relationships with corporate partners, foundations, donors, municipal governments, and community organizations.
- Drive revenue through events, corporate partnerships, major gifts, grant writing, sponsorships, employee engagement, and cause-marketing initiatives.
- Support volunteers and community partners, providing resources, coaching, and recognition to ensure successful fundraising activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align fundraising materials, communications, and initiatives with Kids Help Phone’s brand and strategic goals.
- Manage budgets, track revenue and expenses, and maintain accurate donor and prospect information in Raiser’s Edge.
- Represent Kids Help Phone at events and partner meetings, ensuring a positive experience for all stakeholders.
The qualifications
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in community fundraising and partnership development.
- Minimum 3 years of fundraising experience, including at least 2 years in corporate and community fundraising.
- Proven experience working with volunteers to support events and fundraising initiatives.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; able to build relationships with donors, partners, and volunteers.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills with high attention to quality and accuracy.
- Discretion, diplomacy, and professionalism in handling confidential information and engaging senior leaders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Raiser’s Edge.
- Creativity, initiative, problem-solving skills, and sound judgment in advancing organizational goals.
- Ability to work independently, adapt in a fast-paced environment, and manage competing priorities.
- Commitment to safety, proper use of materials/equipment, and responsive feedback.
- Willingness to travel within Canada; valid driver’s license required.
