We’re the first and only 24/7 e-mental health service in the country and a global leader in innovation for youth and their well-being.
We’re seeking a full-time, permanent team member to join our Advancement team in a hybrid role (2 days per week in our Toronto office) and help ensure more young people across Canada have a safe place to turn when they need support. Reporting to the Senior Development Manager, Regional Philanthropy & Partnerships, the successful candidate is responsible for community-based fundraising across Western Canada, including identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding relationships with corporate, foundation and community partners, donors and sponsors, as well as municipal governments.
In addition, the Development Officer is responsible for Corporate Development revenue via cause-marketing initiatives and employee engagement, and Major Gift revenue via grant writing and proposal development.
It’ll take courage, collaboration, innovation, resilience and trust. If you’re interested in transforming e-mental health solutions with KHP, you can explore this opportunity today!
The responsibilities
- Lead and manage a portfolio of community and national fundraising events, including third-party initiatives and Walk so Kids Can Talk presented by BMO.
- Cultivate and steward corporate, foundation, and community partnerships to drive revenue growth (up to $100,000).
- Build a pipeline of prospective donors and partners, supporting both regional and national fundraising strategies.
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers and event committees to ensure successful community engagement.
- Manage budgets, track revenue and expenses, and ensure compliance with fundraising policies and regulations.
- Maintain accurate donor and partner records in Raiser’s Edge and prepare reports and briefing notes as needed.
- Represent Kids Help Phone at events, presentations, and in the community to strengthen brand awareness and partnerships.
- Contribute to team revenue targets and collaborate across Advancement to achieve organizational fundraising goals.
The qualifications
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in fundraising, partnerships, or community engagement.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in corporate and/or community fundraising, including event and volunteer management.
- Proven ability to build and manage relationships with donors, partners, and volunteers.
- Strong communication skills — clear, persuasive, and adaptable in both written and verbal contexts.
- Highly organized, able to prioritize competing demands and manage projects independently.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM is an asset.
- Creative, resourceful, and solution-oriented, with sound judgment and professionalism.
- Willingness to travel within Canada; valid driver’s license required.
Don’t meet every qualification listed? Studies often report that equity-deserving people are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet every requirement. KHP is dedicated to building a more diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role, but your experience doesn’t align with every qualification, we welcome you to apply anyway. You may have the qualifications / experience for this role or other opportunities at KHP!

Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA)
KHP has a role to play in effecting social change and advancing equity. This is why the practice of IDEA is critical to us. KHP has a long history of celebrating and advancing IDEA through our tailored programs, services, policies, initiatives and task forces with contributions and leadership from teams across the organization. We will not waver on these commitments and will continue leading the way in making the workplace, and the world young people live in, more inclusive, diverse, equitable and accessible.
We believe it’s critical that our services empower everyone who interacts with us to bring their authentic selves to an environment of mutual respect. An open and diverse community can foster the inclusion and amplification of voices that have been, and continue to be, underrepresented.
As such, we welcome applicants from equity-deserving communities (e.g. [ST1] Indigenous Peoples, racialized persons, persons with disabilities, women, 2SLGBTQ+ individuals, etc.). We strongly believe that alleviating the underrepresentation of equity-deserving groups will help create a stronger KHP and help us better support the needs of youth from coast to coast to coast.
