ABOUT THE ROLE:
FCM Network is looking for individuals to join our network in the role of Development Coordinator. Reporting to the Lead Consultant and accountable to the client, the Development Coordinator will be deployed to support clients on a hybrid or remote basis, depending on need, assisting with the implementation of the Fundraising plan.
The Development Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the growth and sustainability of the organization’s fundraising efforts. The position involves identifying and pursuing new funding opportunities, managing donor and prospect information, and coordinating the execution of fundraising events and campaigns. It is ideal for a highly organized individual who is task-oriented and is passionate about relationship-building and making an impact.
The Development Coordinator will assist in planning and delivering successful fundraising initiatives, including proposals, grants, marketing materials and some events.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented professional to build their skills in fundraising, donor relations, and nonprofit communications. It requires a balance of administrative care, creative thinking, and a genuine interest in the organization’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising Support:
- Maintaining and optimizing the donor database, ensuring accurate and timely gift entry, acknowledgment, and reporting.
- Assisting with the planning, execution, and evaluation of fundraising campaigns.
- Coordinating grant application processes, including research and proposal writing.
- Preparing reports and presentations on fundraising progress.
- Supporting donor engagement through personalized communication and stewardship activities.
- Drafting fundraising communications and marketing materials — including appeal letters, brochures, and donor presentations — that effectively convey the organization’s case for support.
Administrative and Project Management:
- Administrative support for donor meetings like scheduling and material preparation.
- Providing administrative support for fundraising activities and initiatives.
- Working with cross-functional teams to develop marketing materials.
- Managing project workflow and milestones for development projects.
- Coordinating with other departments, such as communications and marketing.
- May also be involved in volunteer management and event planning.
Donor Relations:
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with current and potential donors.
- Managing donor recognition and stewardship activities.
- Identifying and researching potential new donors and sponsors.
- Assisting with the cultivation and solicitation of major gifts.
- Other duties as assigned
- Examples may include preparing briefing materials, conducting prospect research, and organizing tours for donors.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related field.
- Knowledge of fundraising principles and best practices.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and donor databases.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
