We deliver programs and opportunities that help youth build confidence, practical experience, and future-ready skills through mentorship, community partnerships, and hands-on learning.
Placement Overview (Remote)
The Design Intern supports YBIB’s visuals by creating clean, on-brand graphics and reusable templates for social media, recruitment, events, and program materials. This placement is ideal for a student who enjoys design systems, brand consistency, and creating content that’s easy for a team to reuse. Reports to: Communications Chair and Design Lead
What You’ll Work On
1) Social Media & Digital Graphics (Canva)
• Create Canva graphics for posts, stories, flyers, and digital promo assets
• Support design needs for program recruitment, events, and community
announcements
2) Brand Consistency & Template Building
• Maintain brand consistency across all visual content (fonts, colors, layout style)
• Organize templates for reuse and help improve our Canva template library
3) Revisions & Collaboration
• Support revisions and updates based on feedback from the team
• Collaborate with Communications to match visuals to campaign messages and
timelines
4) Campaign Packages
• Prepare simple design packages for campaign weeks or program cycles (a set of coordinated graphics delivered in one folder with clear labels)
Deliverables (what success looks like)
• A set of clean, on-brand Canva templates that the team can reuse easily
• Weekly/bi-weekly graphic support for current promotions (recruitment, events,
program updates)
• Organized Drive/Canva folders with clear naming and version control
Ideal Candidate
• College/university student in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Marketing, Communications, Visual Arts, UX/UI, or a related program
• Strong attention to detail and openness to feedback
• Comfortable using (or learning) Canva and working with shared templates
Tools You’ll Use
• Canva (primary)
• Trello (task tracking)
• WhatsApp (quick coordination)
• Buffer (if needed for scheduling)
