Location: 3333 Finch Ave East.
Volunteer Hours: Monday – Friday 9am – 3pm, flexible schedule
Time Commitment: min 3 hrs./wk. for 3 months
Volunteers Needed: 4
Reports to: Day Program Team Leads
Position Summary:
The purpose of this position is to support SPLC’s Chinese, Greek, Adult Day, and Sunflower programs in delivering safe, welcoming, and engaging activities for older adults. Volunteers assist with program setup and cleanup, recreational activities, administrative tasks, participant communication, and the development of new programming under the guidance of team leaders. This role helps participants remain active, socially connected, and meaningfully engaged while supporting the smooth daily operation of the programs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative assistance (e.g., photocopying, posting flyers, data entry, typing, filing, organizing space, etc.).
- Assist with activity set up and take down (e.g. set up for lunch)
- Help older adults with activities in programs (e.g. games, arts and crafts
- Create programming with guidance from team leaders
Skills & Qualifications:
- Able to write, type and speak Cantonese or Greek, an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Fun loving, outgoing personality.
- Attention to detail.
