Job Purpose
The Data Analyst serves as a general consultant to the business on analytics initiatives, empowering stakeholders with actionable insights that drive smarter decisions, stronger strategies, and measurable outcomes.
Partnering with stakeholders and development teams, the Data Analyst defines requirements, applies appropriate analytical approaches, and delivers end-to-end solutions, including dashboards, reports, and workflows.
This role also supports and enhances the organization’s BI and analytics infrastructure, promotes data literacy, and ensures sustainability through clear documentation and scalable solutions.
Success requires advanced analytical expertise, strong data visualization skills, and the ability to communicate insights effectively across teams.
Responsibilities
- Equip business partners to make informed decisions by acting as a technical and strategic partner, consulting on analytics needs and solutions
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and determine appropriate and effective analytical approaches
- Deliver high quality, decision ready insights that influence strategies and drive measurable business outcomes by extracting, analyzing, and validating data from various sources using statistical, diagnostic, and predictive techniques
- Influence strategies and tactics by presenting analytics results in clear, concise formats that highlight recommendations and business value
- Strengthen BI capabilities by supporting reliable tools, smooth migrations, and adoption of modern platforms
- Increase organizational awareness and understanding of performance drivers by designing, developing, maintaining, and automating visually appealing, intuitive, and functional dashboards, reports, workflows, and models
- Lead staff in adopting and utilizing analytics in day-to-day decision-making, ensuring insights drive opportunity identification and informed investments
- Support in building organizational data literacy by clarifying definitions, communicating insights, and guiding stakeholders in effective tool usage
- Strengthen long-term consistency by documenting data sources, methodologies, and workflows, and resolve data and reporting inefficiencies with scalable solutions
Qualifications
- University degree in analytics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, business, or a related field; advanced degree an asset
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in analytics, business intelligence, or insights roles
- Demonstrated expertise in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, forecasting, and advanced analytical techniques
- Proficiency with BI, data manipulation, and data science tools such as Cognos BI, Power BI, SiSense, SQL, Python, SnowFlake, or comparable platforms
- Proven ability to translate loosely defined business problems into clear analytical approaches and actionable solutions
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills; able to convey complex insights in a clear and compelling way
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing demands, establish clear priorities, and consistently deliver high-quality results within tight timelines
- Curiosity, adaptability, and commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging analytics tools and methodologies
- Experience working in Agile or iterative development environments, preferably
