About this opportunity:
As a Crochet Volunteer, you will be supporting U+'s network of volunteers to deliver our community programs and initiatives, as well as actively carrying out our educational and community programs.
Key responsibilities are as follows:
- Assisting and collaborating with other volunteers during shifts to ensure high-quality craft production and the successful completion of projects.
- Drafting promotional materials such as newsletters and flyers to help communicate crochet workshops and volunteering opportunities to the community.
- Participating in and supporting the delivery of crochet-specific training sessions and skill-sharing for volunteers.
- Assisting with outreach to external community organizations to help distribute crochet projects and maintain strategic partnerships.
- Updating or designing U+ crochet patterns and instructional materials (e.g., pattern slides) using Canva.
- Facilitating crochet camps (e.g., March Break Crochet Camp, Weekend Workshops, and Summer Stitch Camp) and other virtual and in-person crafting programs across the Greater Toronto Area.
- Contributing to various sectors of the organization. While focusing on a balance of crochet-related tasks and teaching, you will also complete tasks in other fields (e.g., business development) to support operation expansion.
