
Copywriting Coordinator
Lean In Vancouver is looking for marketing team volunteers to support promoting our events, creating educational content, and more! The Lean In Vancouver marketing team currently manages three social channels (Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn) and supports event logistics through email communications (MailChimp), link landing page (Linktree), and ticket management (Eventbrite).
A successful volunteer will ensure their deliverables are completed on time and communicate regularly with the team through asynchronous communications (Email, Slack, etc.) and come prepared to collaborate during live in-person & virtual meetings.

Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation: Write clear, concise, and compelling copy for various marketing materials, including but not limited to social media posts, email newsletters, website content, event promotions, and advertisements.
- Brand Voice Maintenance: Ensure consistency in brand voice, tone, and messaging across all communication channels to reinforce the organization’s identity and values.
- Audience Engagement: Develop engaging and relevant content that resonates with the target audience, encourages interaction, and drives engagement on social media platforms and other communication channels.
- Content Strategy Development: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop content strategies aligned with organizational goals and marketing objectives, including audience segmentation, content themes, and messaging priorities.
- Copy Editing and Proofreading: Review and edit copy for accuracy, grammar, spelling, and style to maintain high-quality standards and ensure error-free content delivery.
- Campaign Support: Support marketing campaigns and initiatives by creating compelling copywriting materials that effectively communicate key messages and drive desired actions from the audience.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, marketers, event organizers, and external stakeholders, to ensure alignment of messaging and consistency in brand representation across all marketing efforts.
Qualifications
- Creative Writing: Ability to craft engaging and compelling copy that resonates with our target audience and reflects our brand voice.
- Attention to Detail: Strong proofreading and editing skills to ensure accuracy and consistency in all written materials.
- Understanding of Branding: Familiarity with brand guidelines and the ability to maintain brand consistency across all communications.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt writing style and tone based on the platform, audience, and communication objective.
- Research Skills: Capability to conduct research to gather information and insights for content creation.
- Time Management: Effective time management skills to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Collaborative Spirit: Willingness to collaborate with other team members, including designers, marketers, and event organizers, to ensure cohesive messaging and alignment with marketing objectives.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience with email or social copywriting
- Experience with developing and producing community newsletters
- Willingness to attend occasional events and workshops to then report on them
Time Commitment
- 5 – 10 hours a month
- Marketing team meetings as required (monthly)
- Events as needed
