About OCASI:

OCASI – Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants acts as the collective voice for immigrant and refugee-serving organizations in Ontario, and coordinates response to shared needs and concerns. Our mission is to achieve equality, access and full participation for immigrants and refugees in every aspect of Canadian life. OCASI was founded in 1978 and now has over 250 member agencies across Ontario.

Position Overview:

The Coordinator, Web and Graphic Design, assists with multiple projects by creating HTML newsletters, infographics, project toolkits, brochures, large-format materials, and web page designs (wireframes and mockups). The Coordinator, Web and Graphic Design will have a commitment to and awareness of equity, access to services, anti-racism and anti-oppression, gender justice, and anti-poverty as they relate to immigrants and refugees.

The Coordinator, Web and Graphic Design works closely with Digital Services and IT team members and other OCASI team members to provide support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design for various types of projects, including print and online materials
• Work closely with colleagues to translate written content into well-designed products
• Maintain all schedules and deadlines
• Manage projects from brief to final production
• Clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas and solutions to other team members and stakeholders
• Ensure adherence to established standards and best practices in responsive and accessible design
• Collaborate on the maintenance and ongoing design of digital products and related design assets, and support for non-digital projects such as print promotion materials, annual reports, etc.
• Produce design assets for use in digital products, social media and other marketing channels
• Develop and maintain consistent branding, and provide support to update graphics/logos in different formats
• Participate in OCASI technology strategic planning

Qualifications:

• Successful completion of a degree or diploma in graphic arts, web design, web development or equivalent experience
• Knowledge and understanding of issues facing Ontario’s immigrants and refugees and the member agencies that serve them
• Strong conceptual and creative thinking
• Strong understanding of typography and design
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent design applications
• Experience in video, web and multimedia design
• Experience with email marketing design is an asset
• Experience with HTML/CSS and/or Drupal theming is an asset
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders
• Ability to be professional and maintain respectful communication
• Ability to function in a multidisciplinary, culturally diverse workplace and work with a wide range of client groups
• Comfortable multi-tasking, working in high-pressure situations as well as the ability to work quickly and on multiple projects at once
• Willingness to work in an environment where projects and priorities often change
• Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines and demanding schedules
• Good judgment, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team environment

Employment Details:

• Compensation : $53,813
• Job-type: Part-time position based on 21 hours per week (Mon-Fri)
• This is not a bilingual position

La personne coordonnatrice, conception Web et graphique, appuie plusieurs projets en créant des infolettres en HTML, des infographies, des trousses d’outils, des brochures et des maquettes de pages Web. Elle ou il démontre un engagement envers l’équité, l’accessibilité aux services, la lutte contre le racisme et les oppressions, la justice de genre et la lutte contre la pauvreté, notamment en ce qui concerne les personnes immigrantes et réfugiées.

La personne coordonnatrice, conception Web et graphique travaille en étroite collaboration avec les membres de l’équipe technique et les autres membres de l’équipe d’OCASI afin d’offrir un soutien adapté.

RESPONSABILITÉS PRINCIPALES :

• Concevoir du matériel pour divers types de projets, autant imprimés que numériques.
• Travailler en étroite collaboration avec vos collègues afin de transformer du contenu écrit en produits visuellement efficaces.
• Gérer les projets depuis la demande initiale jusqu'à la production finale
• Communiquer de façon claire et efficace les processus de conception, les idées et les solutions aux membres de l’équipe et aux parties prenantes.
• Veiller au respect des normes établies et des meilleures pratiques en matière de conception accessible et adaptative.
• Contribuer à l’entretien et à la mise à jour continue des produits numériques ainsi que des éléments de design connexes, et apporter un soutien aux projets non numériques tels que les supports promotionnels imprimés, les rapports annuels, etc.
• Créer des éléments graphiques pour les produits numériques, les médias sociaux et d’autres canaux de communication.
• Développer et maintenir une image de marque cohérente, apporter un soutien à la mise à jour des graphiques/logos dans différents formats.
• Participer à la planification stratégique technologique d'OCASI.

COMPÉTENCES ET APTITUDES RECHERCHÉES :

• Sensibilité démontrée aux différentes cultures et capacité à établir des liens avec les communautés de personnes nouvellement arrivées.
• Esprit conceptuel et créatif développé.
• Excellente compréhension de la typographie et du design.
• Maîtrise de la suite Adobe Creative ou d’applications équivalentes de conception graphique.
• Expérience en conception vidéo, web et multimédia.
• Une expérience en conception de courriel pour le marketing constitue un atout.
• Une connaissance de HTML/CSS et/ou de conception de thèmes avec Drupal constitue un atout.
• Excellentes compétences en communication écrite et orale, incluant la capacité à échanger avec divers types de parties prenantes.
• Professionnalisme et aptitude à maintenir une communication respectueuse.
• Capacité à travailler dans un milieu multidisciplinaire et culturellement diversifié, avec des clientèles variées.
• À l’aise avec le travail multitâche, la gestion de situations sous pression et la réalisation de plusieurs projets en parallèle.
• Souplesse et ouverture à travailler dans un environnement où les priorités et projets peuvent évoluer rapidement.
• Esprit d’équipe collaboratif, avec de solides compétences interpersonnelles et relationnelles.
• Grand souci du détail, solides compétences organisationnelles et capacité à respecter des échéanciers serrés.

Il s’agit d’un poste à temps partiel – 21 heures par semaine.
