About the position:

The Coordinator, Quality Assurance and Assessments is responsible for coordinating the College’s Quality Assurance Program and providing logistical and administrative support for related initiatives, including Competency-Based Assessments and Compliance Monitoring. This role also provides support to registrants, stakeholders, the Quality Assurance Committee, and its panels.

The Quality Assurance program supports midwives in maintaining ongoing competency and engaging in continuous quality improvement, ensuring they have the appropriate knowledge and skills to practise midwifery safely. The Quality Assurance programs contribute to individual and system-wide continuous quality improvement, helping to ensure that Ontarians continue to have access to high quality midwifery care.

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Coordinator with experience in developing and implementing comprehensive workplans that align with long-term program goals. With strong communication skills, the Coordinator will serve as a key point of contact for registrants and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will be skilled in applying relevant legislation, policies and standards to program and policy design, ensuring compliance while encouraging innovation. A strong commitment to equity, trauma-informed practices and continuous improvement is essential to keeping our programs inclusive, person-centred and responsive to the needs of midwives and the public.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supports program planning and delivery by developing detailed work plans, timelines and deliverables that align with department and organizational objectives.
  • Provides administrative and logistical support to programs, including scheduling meetings, tracking and monitoring activities, managing records and documentation, ensuring timely follow up, and addressing issues as they arise.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for Quality Assurance programs, supporting effective communication and stakeholder engagement through the preparation of correspondence and facilitating effective communication between stakeholders.
  • Supports the Director in overseeing Committee and panel work including administering logistics of all meetings, preparing, and distributing meeting and panel materials, recording minutes, and ensuring appropriate follow up.
  • Oversees aspects of program design and implementation to ensure alignment with applicable legislation, policies and standards.
  • Effectively manages a high-volume workload ensuring annual goals and workplan items are achieved.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant legislation, by-laws, standards and policies.
  • Maintains current knowledge of the College's policies related to privacy and information management and ensures compliance in all relevant work.
  • Makes recommendations for changes to policies relating to program areas.
  • Identifies issues and trends, prepares reports, and makes recommendations to support continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • A combination of competencies, education, and related work experience will be considered
  • A college diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a related field or discipline is preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required, as well as knowledge of general office practices, procedures and standards, and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in a Microsoft Office environment required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Strong planning, organizational and time management skills required, including flexibility for multi-tasking and changing priorities at short notice.
  • Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills required, as well as the ability to maintain program confidentiality.
  • Ability to maintain awareness of and practice cultural safety.
  • Ability to foster and maintain long-term with stakeholders.
