  1. POSITION SUMMARY

The Coordinator, Granting & Programs will assist with the delivery of a key strategic initiative – with funding from Veterans Affairs Canada – to support wellbeing, purpose and identity through a national program to promote Veteran Employment. Specifically, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the coordination and execution of a multi-year, multi-provincial initiative, enhancing Military-to-Civilian transition.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Programs and Partnerships, the Coordinator, Granting & Programs, is a full-time, two-year fixed-term contract position, with the opportunity to work in a hybrid capacity at True Patriot Love’s Toronto based office and remotely, or fully remote. As a representative of the Foundation, this role will require some domestic travel, to support the delivery of activities. With an aspiration to expand this initiative to French speaking communities, bilingualism is a strong asset, as is lived experience of Military-to-Civilian transition.

  1. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Responsibility #1. Project Management and Administration (75% of time)

1. Supporting the implementation of project logistics and administrative workflows (25%)

  • Researches opportunities to expand the network of employers and community-based organizations included in the Veteran Employment Ecosystem
  • Gathers data and information from employers and Veterans to assist in identifying evolving needs, gaps and opportunities to iteratively improve our efforts in support of a successful Military-to-Civilian transition
  • Helps to coordinate and implement cross-sector convenings led by the Granting & Programs team, including catering and accessibility arrangements, invitation and registration tracking, run-of-show and speaker logistics, and day-of event support (check-in, materials, troubleshooting)
  • Collaborates with the Senior Manager, Programs & Partnerships to ensure that logistics planning is in alignment with the budget requirements

2. Tracking and coordination of Veteran Employment deliverables and activities (25%)

  • Tracks and coordinates activities such as outreach to employers and others interested in being involved in convening opportunities
  • Records management in Salesforce and ASANA to ensure contact information and updates are timely and current
  • Drafts impact reporting to Veterans Affairs Canada

3. Supporting cross-coordination across teams within True Patriot Love (25%)

  • With the Senior Manager, Programs and Partnerships, coordinates with the Development team to ensure alignment of corporate relationships
  • Coordinates budget tracking for the Veteran Employment Initiative (national and regional) and supports the Senior Manager, Programs and Partnerships with financial reconciliation, as required
  • With the Senior Manager, Programs and Partnerships, coordinates with the Community Engagement and Advocacy team to integrate opportunities through our Veteran Volunteerism Initiative and growth of the Veteran Hub
  • Ensures that all folders and content within the True Patriot Love shared drive and corresponding systems, namely Salesforce and Asana, are up-to-date and orderly

Responsibility #2. Development of internal and external project materials (25% total)

  • Prepares draft slide decks, briefings, summaries, and materials for review and finalization by the Senior Manager, Programs and Partnerships
    • Escalates risks, concerns, or delivery issues to the Senior Manager, Programs and Partnerships and Chief Program Officer, as appropriate
    • Participates in regular meetings with the Senior Manager, Programs and Partnerships and as identified, with the Chief Program Officer

  1. EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
    1. Passion for and understanding of the Canadian Armed Forces and related, Military-to-Civilian Transition.
    2. Demonstrated experience in a coordination, program support, or project administration role, with responsibility for tracking timelines, deliverables, logistics and budget across multiple workstreams or stakeholders.
    3. Strong communicator both verbally and in writing; experience developing critical paths, event briefings and meetings, and impact reports.
    4. Ability to input into the design of program evaluation framework and practice to ensure the impact on beneficiaries is maximized.
    5. Comfortable working in a support role within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment, and taking direction from senior staff while proactively anticipating needs and next steps.
    6. Strong orientation to knowledge review and translation including familiarity program development.
    7. Excellent technical/ analytical skills and attention to detail.
    8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners in a professional, responsive, and service-oriented manner.
    9. Experience with Salesforce and Asana.
    10. Domestic travel of up to three weeks/ year.
    11. Bilingualism in English and French is a strong asset.
