
Coordinator of Children’s Programs & Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS)
We are seeking a compassionate, experienced Coordinator of Children’s Programs & Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) to join our interdisciplinary team. This role plays a vital part in enhancing the quality of life and emotional well-being of children, youth, and families receiving pediatric hospice and palliative care services.
Working collaboratively with senior management and frontline teams, the successful candidate will coordinate, develop, and deliver children’s recreation and psychosocial programs across both our hospice residence and in-home hospice program. This role combines direct clinical care, program coordination, and staff leadership, grounded in an anti-oppressive, child- and family-centered framework.
The position is primarily based 3 days at the hospice residence and 2 days within the in-home visiting hospice program, with flexibility based on program needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide therapeutic play and psychosocial support to children and youth
- Coordinate and deliver age-appropriate recreation and child life programming
- Support end-of-life, legacy, and bereavement activities
- Supervise and support Children’s Program Facilitators and volunteers
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting in the EMR
- Collaborate with families and interdisciplinary care teams
- Support community education, student placements, and outreach activities
Qualifications
- Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) (required)
- Minimum 2-year post-secondary education in a related field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children with illness, special needs, or medical complexity
- Experience in hospice, palliative care, or healthcare settings preferred
- Experience in program coordination and staff/volunteer supervision
- Eligible for a cleared Vulnerable Sector Police Check
