Greenwood is seeking an Coordinator, Advancement & Community Engagement. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Advancement & Community Engagement (ACE) team as they help the school launch its next strategic initiatives, increase fundraising revenue, and engage the entire community, parents, staff, alumni and former parents.
Reports To: Director, Community Engagement & Giving
Position Summary
The Coordinator, Advancement & Community Engagement will work closely with their ACE colleagues, volunteers and school staff. Primary responsibilities include:
- Coordinate the planning of all ACE-related events from concept to execution including advancement, fundraising, community engagement, alumni and parent association (Roundtable) events
- Attend ACE-related events and support on execution where required
- Research a portfolio of campaign prospects that ACE team members can use for cultivation and solicitation
- Assist with capital campaign planning and execution (including prospect research and effective stewardship)
- Maintain & manage the donor pipeline
- Develop, with assistance from the Communications team, endowment & stewardship donor reports, gift agreements, briefing notes and any other communications that assist the ACE team with donor cultivation, stewardship or solicitation
- Calendar management of Advancement team for prospect meetings, events and moves management
- Oversee the effective use of Raiser’s Edge as our constituent database (focusing on donor management, research, and report generating)
- Provide research, prospect, and pipeline management
- Produce reports for the Board and Foundation Board
- Organize & upkeep of recognition (plaquing & naming)
- Coordinate ACE policies
Committees: 25th Anniversary Planning Committee, other committees as required
Qualifications and Experience
- University degree or equivalent combination of work experience and education
- 3-5 years of Advancement-related work is an asset
- Experience conducting prospect research and managing a donor pipeline
- Fundraising experience - major gifts is an asset
- Strong knowledge of the independent school community
- Working knowledge of Blackbaud and Raiser’s Edge
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to set and achieve departmental goals and objectives
- Experience working in a capital campaign is considered an asset
