
Content Creator & Photographer
West Point Grey Academy is seeking a Content Creator & Photographer to join our Communications team beginning on or around September 2, 2026. This is a full-time position, eligible for benefits.

This role is best suited to someone who enjoys being out on campus, building relationships, discovering meaningful moments, and transforming them into stories that resonate. It combines professional photography with purposeful visual storytelling and consistent digital content creation, helping to capture and share the life of the school in ways that are authentic, thoughtful, and engaging.
The Impact of This Role
In this role, you will help:
- Capture the everyday rhythm and defining moments of school life to strengthen connection across current and prospective members of the community.
- Build a consistent and engaging visual presence across digital platforms.
- Support storytelling that contributes to community engagement, and enrolment and advancement objectives, helping audiences better understand and connect with the WPGA experience.
In your first year at WPGA, you'll be directly involved in:
Visual Content Creation & Strategic Storytelling
- Proactively identify meaningful moments across campus and transform them into engaging visual stories for a range of audiences
- Capture high-quality photography and short-form video that reflects both everyday school life and key events
- Produce a balance of candid, documentary-style images and planned photography
- Support storytelling initiatives across the school by creating visual content that helps prospective and current families connect with the WPGA student experience
- Capture and develop content that helps engage alumni, supporting continued connection with the school through meaningful reflection on student life, milestones, and shared experiences
- Edit and prepare content for use across social media, publications, and internal communications
- Maintain an organized and accessible library of visual assets
Social Media & Content Creation
- Plan and publish daily content for the school's social media channels, particularly Instagram
- Write clear, engaging captions aligned with the school's voice and values
- Monitor engagement and respond appropriately to comments and messages in keeping with the school's brand and communications standards
Content Coordination & Alignment
- Support the coordination of the school's auxiliary social media accounts, helping to encourage consistency in tone, messaging, and visual identity
- Work collaboratively with departments to introduce practical and sustainable approaches to content creation and account management
- Identify opportunities to amplify stories from across the school while maintaining an aligned and cohesive presence
Collaboration & Campus Presence
- Work under the direction of the Director of communications to advance institutional priorities, including enrolment, advancement, and key school initiatives
- Work closely with faculty, staff, and students to support authentic participation in storytelling
- Be a visible and approachable presence on campus, comfortable in stepping into active environments and capturing moments as they unfold
First 90 Days in the Role
In your first few months, you will begin to:
- Develop a strong understanding of the school's rhythms, calendar, and key moments
- Establish a consistent and sustainable workflow for capturing, editing, and publishing content
- Build relationships across the school community to support storytelling and content flow
- Review existing social media practices and begin supporting greater alignment across accounts
- Contribute to content that supports key admissions, community engagement, and storytelling priorities

Candidates are asked to complete their application by August 7, 2026 @ 4:00 pm Pacific Time.
1. Screening
You will be asked to submit your resume and portfolio examples, and provide thoughtful responses to few scenario-based questions. Your responses to the questions should outline how you demonstrate the About You section. It will also illustrate how you imagine your first year in the role. Responses will be anonymized and randomized prior to screening. We will screen candidate responses based on the alignment with the knowledge, competencies and character required for this position. The intent is to minimize bias in the first assessment stage. Only after these responses have been assessed will we review your resume.
You can answer the questions on the form provided, or submit your responses on a single document and upload the file. Please be concise in your responses. Use of AI is permitted, but please add a one-line note at the end of each response confirming use of AI and stating how you ensured authenticity.
2. Initial Conversation (Reverse Interview) (30 minutes)
Successful candidates selected move forward in the process and will be contacted to arrange an informal conversation. On this call, we want to hear your questions about the school and the role.
3. Authentic Belonging Interview (60 minutes)
Short-listed candidates will progress to a final interview where we will discuss the school and how you see yourself as a member of our community.
