Are you passionate about creating engaging content, telling impactful stories, and using social media to make a difference? The Afro-Caribbean Thrive Coalition is looking for creative and enthusiastic Volunteer Content Creators to help promote the Afro-Caribbean Thrive Conference 2026 and inspire our growing community.

About the Role

As a Volunteer Content Creator, you will help create engaging digital content that increases awareness of the conference, highlights community stories, and encourages people to attend, volunteer, and get involved.

Responsibilities

  • Create short-form videos (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts) and social media posts.
  • Develop creative content ideas that encourage engagement and conversation.
  • Capture photos and videos at meetings, events, and community activities when applicable.
  • Edit videos using simple editing tools such as CapCut, Canva, Adobe Express, or similar platforms.
  • Assist in promoting conference speakers, sponsors, volunteers, exhibitors, and community partners.
  • Help grow our online presence across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Collaborate with the Communications and Marketing Team to maintain consistent branding and messaging.
  • Attend virtual team meetings and contribute creative ideas.

Qualifications

  • Passion for storytelling, social media, and community engagement.
  • Comfortable creating content for social media platforms.
  • Basic video editing and graphic design skills are an asset but not required.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Creative, reliable, and able to work independently.
  • Interest in supporting Black, Afro-Caribbean, and immigrant communities is an asset.

Time Commitment

  • Approximately 3–5 hours per week (flexible).
  • Attendance at occasional virtual meetings.
  • Additional involvement during the weeks leading up to the conference and on the conference day.
