Job Title: Content Coordinator

Location: Gatineau, QC (Hybrid)

Reports to: Marketing & Communications Team Lead

Salary Range: $50,000–$55,000 CAD

We are seeking a motivated Content Coordinator to join our Marketing & Communications team. In this role, you will manage day-to-day content operations across websites, social media, and email platforms while providing technical support to maintain and improve our digital infrastructure. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, technical, and eager to support youth engagement in Arctic and ocean stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Management

  • Deploy engaging content across social media platforms.
  • Monitor and engage with online audiences by responding to comments and fostering conversations.
  • Track and analyze social media performance to optimize content strategies.

Media Monitoring

  • Use Meltwater to monitor and curate relevant content related to SOI’s mission, partners, and industry trends.

Email Marketing & Newsletters

  • Manage and segment MyEmma email lists for targeted outreach.
  • Create and maintain email signup forms to grow subscriber lists.
  • Deploy newsletters and email campaigns that engage key audiences.

Website Management

  • Publish and update content on SOI websites.
  • Maintain a yearly website maintenance schedule to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve website issues promptly.
  • Coordinate translations to ensure content is available in three languages.

Digital Asset Management

  • Set up upload links for photographers and organize digital assets into accessible libraries.
  • Create and manage portals for easy internal and partner access.
  • Oversee asset permissions to maintain proper usage and security.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop and distribute quarterly communications performance reports.
  • Gather and analyze data for expedition and partner reports to demonstrate impact and engagement.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Diploma, degree, or certificate in communications, marketing, web development, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 1–3 years of experience managing content for websites, social media, and email campaigns..

Technical Skills

  • Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube, etc.) and content scheduling tools.
  • Familiarity with website CMS platforms (WordPress) and working knowledge of HTML/CSS for troubleshooting, formatting, and layout adjustments.
  • Proven SEO skills, including content and image optimization, keyword research and implementation, alt text and meta tag management to improve organic visibility.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms (MyEmma, Mailchimp, or similar).
  • Comfort with digital asset management tools and organizing media libraries.
  • Experience with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Meltwater, or similar) to monitor and report on performance. Core Competencies
