
Community Support Worker - Full-Time 6-Month Maternity Coverage
Baldwin Housing and Community Support Program is seeking a Community Support Worker - 6 Month Contract - to provide instrumental support services to individuals aged 16 or older who have a serious mental illness/concurrent disorder. Services will be provided within a framework of a client-centered rehabilitation model. The community support worker will work collaboratively with the team and other mental health service providers to increase the functional abilities and independent living of residents of the Baldwin Housing and Community Support Program. The Community Support Worker will perform a continuum of functions, including developing support plans with clients, client, and systems advocacy, symptom management, life skills teaching, supportive counselling, family support, and crisis support. The Community Support Worker provides support within our residential setting and in the Community with individuals living independently. The community support worker may provide on-call support and, at times, works flexible hours.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a college diploma/university degree in social service worker or social work with experience in the mental health field and/or addictions and housing. Candidates must be registered or eligible for registration in a professional college or association. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle for use in this position. The ability to provide French-Language services is an asset.
