Community Outreach Work Experience Opportunity

The Volunteer Grandparents Organization is seeking a Community Outreach Assistant!

This work experience opportunity will provide the participant with a range of employmentrelated supports including:

• Orientation and training in community-based nonprofit work
• Digital literacy and basic data management support (e.g., spreadsheets, mapping tools)
• Hands-on experience with community outreach and engagement
• Opportunities to support local events and connect with our community
• Exposure to Volunteer Management in a non-profit
• Ongoing supervision, mentorship, and support from staff

Length of Time- 240 hours from September 2026 to January 2027.

The Community Outreach Assistant will receive a stipend of $3600 for their time during this work experience opportunity.

This position is funded by the United Way Work Experience Opportunities Grant and is open to individuals who receive or are eligible for BCEA/PWD (or federal equivalent for on reserve) and/or face barriers to employment.
