Community Outreach Volunteer

Organization: Trauma & Embodiment Association of Ontario (TEAO Canada)
Location: Remote with community-based outreach (Waterloo Region preferred)
Time Commitment: Flexible, approximately 4–8 hours per month

About TEAO Canada

TEAO Canada is a trauma-responsive, community-rooted organization offering peer-led mental health support, care circles, and training programs. Our work prioritizes embodiment, consent, relational safety, and equitable access to care.

As we expand our Trauma-Responsive Care Personnel Team and community programming, we are strengthening our outreach efforts to increase referrals and access.

Position Overview

We are seeking Community Outreach Volunteers to help build relationships and increase awareness of TEAO Canada’s programs and services within community spaces.

This is an ideal role for someone who believes in collective care and wants to support mental health access through engagement, connection-building, and visibility.

Key Responsibilities

Share information about TEAO programs within relevant networks

Connect with universities, therapy practices, hospitals, recovery programs, and community hubs

Circulate flyers and digital outreach materials

Support referral pathway development

Provide light feedback on community engagement efforts

Areas of Focus

Monthly Care Series

Trauma-Informed Library Circles

Virtual Somatic Peer Support Groups

Peer Support Certification & Training Programs

Qualifications

Strong communication skills

Interest in trauma-informed and community-rooted care

Comfortable engaging with organizations or sharing materials in networks

Organized and reliable

No clinical experience required.
