We are hiring multiple Community Initiatives Coordinators to support short-term project work connected to local initiatives in Northern British Columbia. This contract role focuses on coordination and follow-through related to community-based activities, with light administrative and record-keeping tasks as needed. The work is remote and part-time, with flexible scheduling. Projects may be self-directed or connected to broader community priorities, depending on community interest and availability.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the planning and coordination of community-related activities or initiatives
  • Organizing tasks, timelines, and basic records related to project work
  • Attending scheduled virtual meetings to provide updates and receive direction
  • Completing assigned administrative or coordination tasks independently
  • Communicating with community contacts or advisors when required
  • Tracking progress and preparing brief summaries or reflections

Work schedule

This role requires a time commitment of approximately 10–15 hours per week.

There are a few scheduled virtual meetings each week, and the rest of the work can be completed independently at times that work for you.

Candidate profile

This role may be a good fit for individuals who:

  • Live in a northern community in British Columbia
  • Are between 18 and 30 years old*
  • Are reliable, organized, and comfortable working independently
  • Are interested in community-focused work or gaining coordination experience
  • Can manage their time and meet deadlines without close supervision

This role is open to applicants from all backgrounds. Prior business, project management, or formal coordination experience is not required. What matters most is a genuine care for your community and a desire to contribute in meaningful ways.

Contract details

  • Fixed-term contract of 3 months
  • Hourly rate of $29–$35
  • Remote work arrangement
