Overview
We are seeking an experienced, motivated Community Fundraising Manager to lead, coordinate, and expand our community fundraising efforts (5km walks, cycling events and other types of community and third-party events). The Community Fundraising Manager, who will report to the CEO, is essential to ensure our organization has the financial resources needed to achieve its mission. The ideal candidate is strategic, relationship-driven, highly organized, and comfortable engaging members of our community, such as volunteer leaders, participants, donors, partners, and sponsors.

Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy & Management
- Under the supervision of the CEO and with the input of the Chief Mission Officer the Community Fundraising Manager, will develop and implement annual community fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Manage and expand diverse revenue streams, including community fundraising initiatives and corporate partnerships.
- Create and manage annual fundraising event calendars, timelines, and campaign plans.
Campaigns & Events
- Plan and execute community fundraising strategy (Myeloma Canada and Community driven events, seek sponsorships where relevant, etc.).
- Lead the coordination of community fundraising events (45+ walks, 8+ cycling events, third-party community events, auctions, etc.).
- Maintain solid relationships with volunteers to support their efforts and grow the volunteer base nationally
- Ensure the fundraisers volunteers have all the tools and resources at their disposal to help them promote their events locally, and keep communication lines open and frequent
- Collaborate with Digital Engagement and Communications Manager on campaign messaging and promotional materials.
- Work closely with the Digital Experience Technician to ensure online platforms are running smoothly, launched on time, and troubleshooting issues are resolved promptly
- Track the income and manage expenses to ensure events are profitable
- Travel to events where Myeloma Canada should have a physical presence
Data & Reporting
- Where relevant share donor history from Raiser’s Edge NXT for internal analysis purposes.
- Collaborate with Director of Major Gifts and Planned Giving on identifying potential donors, and developing a corporate sponsor strategy
- Generate fundraising reports for leadership, board meetings, and strategic planning.
- Monitor KPIs to evaluate campaign effectiveness and donor engagement.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with senior leadership to set fundraising priorities and targets.
- Partner with communications, programs, and finance teams to align messaging and reporting.
- Work closely with event planning, office staff and Digital Experience Technologist to ensure back-end event logistics are organized, efficient and on time
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in community fundraising, development, nonprofit management, or a related field.
- Excel in fundraising and event planning
- Extremely organized and able to react and adapt to change quickly
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising goals.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong writing skills (donor communications, proposals, grant applications).
- Experience using fundraising platforms (Blackbaud’s Luminate Online is a strong asset).
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work within a team.
- Able to lead with confidence and troubleshoot quickly
- Possess a high level of professionalism, discretion, and donor stewardship.
- Excellent communication skills in both French and English (written and spoken)
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft suite, Adobe, Canva, and other digital platforms an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or a related field. Relevant direct job experience will also be considered.
- Experience in managing and building relationships with volunteer driven fundraising activities.
- Experience in event planning and leading multiple events/campaigns simultaneously.
- Familiarity with data analytics, revenue forecasting, and donor segmentation.
