Overview:
The Canadian Dermatology Association (CDA) is looking for a volunteer Community Director with Financial expertise to join its Board of Directors. This role involves providing financial advice to support the association's vision to have Canadian dermatologists recognized as the experts and leaders in skin health.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a voting member of the CDA Board
- Act as a voting member of the Finance and Audit Committee
- Provide financial guidance
- Participate and contribute to a governance focused board
- Support board decisions and represent the CDA in your community
- Uphold fiduciary duties and act in the best interests of the association
Requirements:
- Accounting designation
- Financial experience in non-profit or medical setting
- Prior non-profit board experience or formal board training
- Passion for healthcare and improving patient outcomes
Commitment:
- Attend five board meetings annually, including two face-to-face meetings (travel expenses will be reimbursed)
- Attend four Finance and Audit Committee meetings
Term
- This is a 2-year term renewable twice
Additional Information:
- This is an unpaid volunteer position
- Candidates must reside in Canada
- Preparation time outside of meetings is expected
