About R&E Ocean Community Conservation:
R&E Ocean Community Conservation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to marine conservation through scientific research, data collection, and community engagement. We work with coastal communities to promote education, training, and involvement in conservation initiatives. Our projects span diverse locations across North and Latin America, Antarctica, and other regions. Our focus extends beyond whales to marine ecosystems, including whales, dolphins, sea turtles, whale sharks, and other species. Our mission is to generate scientific knowledge while empowering communities to protect marine environments through sustainable practices.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Communications & Social Media Specialist to develop and implement strategies that expand our reach and engage our audience. This role will be responsible for creating and managing content across multiple digital platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute social media strategies to promote R&E Ocean Community Conservation.
- Create and schedule engaging posts, stories, and campaigns across various platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter).
- Write and edit blog posts, newsletters, and press releases about our projects.
- Monitor engagement and analyze social media performance metrics to improve outreach.
- Collaborate with designers and AV specialists to create multimedia content.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in social media management, content creation, and digital marketing.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Familiarity with social media analytics tools.
- Passion for marine conservation and environmental storytelling.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
