
COMMUNICATIONS & OUTREACH SPECIALIST
VOLUNTEER ROLE – COMMUNICATIONS & OUTREACH SPECIALIST (Experienced Only)
MNLC supports newcomers with settlement services, English language programs, employment support, and community integration. We are seeking an experienced Communications & Outreach Specialist to strengthen our visibility and community reach.
Role Overview: We need a skilled communicator with nonprofit experience. This role requires someone who understands diverse communities and newcomer engagement. This is not suitable for high-school students
Responsibilities:
• Create content for website, newsletters, social media, and outreach campaigns.
• Develop stories that highlight MNLC programs, newcomer impact, and community initiatives.
• Strengthen outreach to partners, donors, and newcomer communities.
• Support communications for fundraising and community events.
• Ensure consistent, culturally responsive messaging across all channels.
Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of communications, marketing, PR, or nonprofit outreach experience.
• Strong writing, editing, and content-creation abilities.
• Experience supporting newcomer or immigrant communities.
• Ability to develop professional messaging and manage multiple channels.
• Professional maturity; ability to work independently.
