About the Role

We are looking for a mission-aligned Communications & Marketing Manager to shape and carry the Acts for Water story. This role sits at the intersection of donor engagement, public awareness, and brand management — translating complex fieldwork into compelling narratives that move people to give, advocate, and stay connected. You will work closely with the CEO and Director of Philanthropy to support fundraising campaigns, generate donor-facing reports, and build multimedia communications designed for engagement. This is a fast-paced, high-impact role in a lean team where your work is visible, and your leadership is key to driving initiatives.

Responsibilities:

This role is responsible for all aspects of communications and marketing, including:

  • Plan and project-manage an annual communications and marketing plan.
  • Coordinate staff roles and responsibilities with excellence.
  • Lead and execute annual giving campaigns from concept to execution — digital and direct mail appeals, donor segmentation, CRM loading, and print production.
  • Source stories, photos, and field updates from the Ugandan team. Shape raw field content into compelling donor-facing narratives that reflect the human impact of our work.
  • Develop and coordinate themed content for all communications. Ensure brand consistency across all channels.
  • Monitor, analyze and report on email and other key performance indicators and metrics.
  • Copywrite and design impact reports, proposals, and other documents in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Collaborate to source material, populate, and execute a quarterly digital newsletter.
  • Create web-based landing pages for individuals doing Peer-to-Peer fundraising.
  • Facilitate a bi-monthly online engagement session for prospective supporters learning about our mission and work in Uganda.

Experience & Skillsets

3+ years in marketing or communications; nonprofit or mission-driven experience an asset. Strong writer and editor with an instinct for authentic storytelling. Self-directed and comfortable in a lean, fast-paced environment. Familiar with digital design tools and CRM. Genuinely motivated by humanitarian work.

  • Strong copywriting and project management skills. Demonstrated ability to proactively identify needs, solve problems and move projects forward independently in a small-team environment.
  • Strong design skills. Proficient in Canva and comfortable across digital platforms
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and deadline-driven. CRM experience required; Keela and segmentation experience an asset.
  • Proven fundraising campaign results an asset
  • Degree or diploma in communications, marketing or related field an asset
  • Knowledge of international development an asset

Compensation Package

Gross annual salary: $42,000

Contract: Permanent, fully remote, 22.5 hours/week
