Communications Intern (Student Placement)
Role Overview:
Young Bosses in Business Foundation (YBIB) is a youth-focused Canadian charity supporting
entrepreneurship, leadership, and real-world skill-building for young people.
The Communications Intern helps manage YBIB communications across social media, email, and
web. This role supports planning, writing, scheduling, and keeping messaging consistent across
platforms. Reports to the Communications Chair.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain a content calendar and weekly posting plan
• Write captions, short copy, and story prompts
• Schedule posts using Buffer (or learn quickly if new to it)
• Support newsletters/email communications (Mailchimp) as assigned
• Support website updates and maintenance as assigned (basic content updates)
• Support donor-facing communications support as assigned (in collaboration with Head of
Donor Relations)
• Keep content organized in shared folders and help maintain consistency
Skills & Qualifications:
• Best suited for college/university students enrolled in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, or related programs
• High school students looking to gain experience and complete community service hours are welcome to apply
• Strong writing skills, organization, and attention to detail
• Comfortable using or learning Google Suite, Buffer, and WhatsApp
