
Communications Coordinator
The Society of Jesus, whose members are known as Jesuits, is a Catholic religious order known for its dedication to education, social justice and spiritual formation. Founded in 1540 by St. Ignatius of Loyola, the Jesuits have a rich history of adapting their mission to the needs of their time.

The Jesuits of Canada are looking for a creative and dynamic Communications Coordinator to join their team. The Communications Office supports the Jesuits' mission by growing their network of friends, donors and candidates through various means of communication, including newsletters, social media, a biannual magazine and online articles.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Communications, the Coordinator will participate in the design, writing and managing of various media channels, with the aim of promoting the Jesuits' mission and strengthening their public visibility. The Coordinator will ensure the consistency and quality of the messages communicated, in line with the organization's strategic directions. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively in French and in English and work closely with editors and translators. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and write communication content (newsletters, articles, publication) in line with the communication strategy and narrative frameworks;
- Adapt messages to target audiences and distribution platforms (web, social media, print);
- Manage and moderate the Jesuits of Canada’s social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X), including the creation of visuals and video clips;
- Produce and distribute regular newsletters (weekly and thematic) and monitor their performance (open rates, clicks);
- Coordinate the publication of the magazine Canadian Jesuits, in collaboration with editors, translators, proofreaders and graphic designers;
- Update and enrich the website, in collaboration with the webmaster, ensuring the optimization of calls to action;
- Create and manage an annual editorial calendar, ensuring consistency and planning of publications;
- Maintain regular contact with our various partners;
- Monitor and analyze digital communications performance indicators and propose data-driven improvements;
- Apply brand guidelines and contribute to their evolution (tone, visuals, writing style);
- Contribute to the management and maintenance of contact databases, in accordance with current standards;
- Participate in ongoing training and a culture of shared discernment, integrating the Ignatian perspective into communications.
Qualifications and attributes
- University degree in communications, marketing, or a related field;
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in content management, creation, and communications;
- Experience in an institutional, community or faith-based environment (an asset);
- Proficiency in digital communication tools (CMS, newsletters, social media, analytics tools);
- Ability to learn and use various software programs (HubSpot, Adobe Express, Canva, CRM);
- Experience in managing a magazine or print publication, including coordinating freelancers (an asset);
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence tools for content creation and problem solving;
- Experience in SEO and videos (an asset);
- Organizational skills, rigour and autonomy;
- Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines;
- Creativity, curiosity and agility;
- Collaborative spirit and excellent interpersonal skills;
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and in a religious organization;
- Understanding of, and commitment to, the mission of the Catholic Church and the Society of Jesus;
- Integrity and respect for the organization's values and ethics;
- Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written.
