What we’re looking for…
Reporting to the Senior Advisor, Communications and Marketing, the Communications and Marketing Assistant, provides administrative support and coordinates the enhancement and successful execution of communications, marketing, events and public relations activities. Areas of focus include increasing overall awareness of Vineland, including leveraging data tools, techniques, and strategies. The Communications and Marketing Assistant supports the development and promotion of the Vineland brand while also ensuring it aligns with Vineland’s Corporate and Innovation strategies; and demonstrates a strong aptitude for traditional and emerging digital technologies, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration.
What you’ll do…
- Support the creation and management of internally and externally facing content, including, Vineland’s annual Innovation Report, quarterly newsletters, press releases, news articles, social media and other content as deemed necessary.
- Manage shared e-mail inboxes and action accordingly.
- Act as a communications liaison to support the internal tracking of content through the government approval process.
- Work with the Senior Advisor, Communications and Marketing and the Director, Business and Client Development to:
- Design and execute communication strategies to increase Vineland’s visibility, drive traffic to Vinelands’ research services and commercialization ventures.
- Draft promotional and outreach materials to support corporate communications and business development activities. This will include collaborating with internal stakeholders to translate project outcomes into publicly available resources such as success stories.
- Coordinate internal event planning requirements, collaborating with internal resources to manage plans and logistics.
What we need from you…
- College diploma and 3-5 years’ experience working in a communications and/or marketing role or Undergraduate degree in related field and 1-3 years relevant experience preferred.
- Intermediate understanding of social media and web communications.
- Intermediate web content management skills.
- Intermediate to advanced skill level with MS Office (especially Word, Outlook).
- Intermediate level of experience with online tools including, but not limited to: MailChimp, Adobe Creative Cloud, Sage CRM is an asset.
- Intermediate level skills with social media monitoring and scheduling tools.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Bilingual is considered an asset.
