Job Title: Communications Advisor

Salary: $21.50/hr

Hours: 5 – 10 hours/week. Hours are flexible and work will be done virtually.

Duration: Permanent (Part-Time)

Position Overview:

As a representative of the Ottawa Gloucester Hornets (OGH) you represent the brand and experience the Club wishes for all members. During your duties you will encourage, positively influence and support the club. As a member of the OGH you will work to support the Club’s strategic plan and meet the objectives to support that plan. Following direction from the General Manager, you will implement the shared vision of the Club.

• The Communications Adviser will assist with researching, editing and writing content for our website and social media posts
• Develop content for social media and club communications
• Other duties as required by the General Manager

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills:

• Experience with content creation and graphic design (Canva)
• Knowledge of social media platforms such as Bluesky, Facebook and Instagram
• Knowledge of Google adwords programs
• Proficiency in MS Office 365 (MS Excel, MS Outlook, Sharepoint and Powerpoint in particular)
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment
• A creative mind with an ability to suggest improvements
• Knowledge of not-for-profit sector an asset
• Background and experience in Coding an asset
• French language proficiency an asset
