The Volunteer’s Role
Cuso International is looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic about joining the Volunteering Cooperation Program. As a Communication Advisor, you will utilize your skills in storytelling to highlight the positive effects of international volunteering and collaborative efforts to address poverty. You will assist the SHARE Project, working alongside the Tanzania Women Chamber of Commerce in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The aim of this initiative is to enhance capacity, develop marketing strategies, and establish networking and financial connections to promote the growth of women entrepreneurs and the welfare of women-led businesses.
As a volunteer, you will:
- Capture and write stories that illustrate the impacts of international volunteering and the collaborative efforts to combat poverty.
- Collaborate closely with TWCC staff to define project logistics and timelines.
- Ensure that information is presented in the required formats (as specified) upon the completion of the placement.
- Time permitting, support TWCC in developing communication materials and provide training sessions for staff on communication strategies.
Essential Qualifications:
- Degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or a similar discipline
Essential Background:
- Proven experience in creating and executing communication strategies
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication abilities; experience in producing both print and digital communication materials
- Enthusiasm and capability to lead training sessions on effective communication
- Strong knowledge of digital platforms and social media
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines
- A creative individual with sound judgment, capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team

Volunteer Support and Requirements
Support Package
Cuso International provides a comprehensive support package to ensure volunteers maintain a modest and healthy lifestyle aligned with local standards. This includes:

Selection and Screening
If you are shortlisted, you will need to:
- Confirm passport or permanent resident details for travel
- Provide two professional references and one personal reference
- Complete a language assessment during the initial phone interview
- Pass a police check and medical clearance before departure
- Comply with anti-terrorism checks
