As Co-Chair of the Daytrippers Trips Committee, you will play a critical leadership role in ensuring the success of our national school trip funding program. You will co-lead a dedicated volunteer team, oversee the application adjudication process, strengthen teacher engagement, and help drive the strategic growth of our outreach and impact. This position works closely with the Executive Committee and other stakeholders to uphold Daytrippers’ mission of making enriching educational experiences accessible to children across Canada. What You Will Do:
â Co-lead the Trips Committee, including recruiting, onboarding, and supporting volunteers â Oversee the trip adjudication process, ensuring alignment with our funding criteria and
operational timelines â Collaborate with the Executive Committee on strategic initiatives, reporting, and funding
allocations â Lead communications strategy with teachers, enhancing engagement and building long-term
relationships â Maintain transparency, efficiency, and responsiveness throughout the application pipeline â Work closely with the Analytics team to track commitments, report outcomes, and identify
areas for improvement â Represent Daytrippers externally when needed, supporting awareness and fundraising
efforts â Identify opportunities to scale the impact and reach of the Trips Committee nationally
Who You Are: As a member of the Daytrippers Executive Committee, you have the following:
â A collaborative leader with experience managing teams or projects (volunteer or professional)
â Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills â Passionate about education, equity, and community engagement â Comfortable working in a fast-paced, volunteer-led environment with seasonal volume peaks â Previous nonprofit or committee experience is an asset, but not required
About the Volunteer Experience All volunteer positions are designed for professionals with busy lives. Committee members and co-chairs make a 1-year commitment. This role has low activity between May – August; however, during peak season (September -April) this role requires a commitment of 5–10 hours per month, varying seasonally with trip review cycles. Committee meetings take place outside of normal business hours and can typically be accessed by conference call if necessary. All volunteers have the opportunity to be core to our decision-making process.
