The opportunity

Are you motivated by the chance to help ensure all young people in Canada can access mental health support and Feel Out Loud? Kids Help Phone (KHP) is Canada’s Unlock The Hope Youth Charity. We’re the first and only 24/7 e-mental health service in the country and a global leader in innovation for youth and their well-being.

Reporting to the Manager, Clinical & Content, the successful candidate the successful candidate will develop and maintain evidence-based content and resources that are clinically accurate, clear, accessible, and appropriate for diverse audiences. Working closely with teams across the organization, they will support strong standards, processes, and best practices for clinical content.

The successful candidate will also provide clinical guidance to Brand, Storytelling and Communications (BSC), advising on language, evidence-based information, and counselling approaches used across platforms. Through cross-departmental collaboration and key initiatives, this role contributes to Kids Help Phone’s impact and leadership in the knowledge mobilization space.

The responsibilities

  • Lead and guide knowledge translation for content produced by Brand, Storytelling and Communications (BSC)
  • Provide clinical and editorial direction to ensure content is accurate, clear, and aligned with Kids Help Phone’s standards
  • Write, review, and edit evidence-based materials, including advertising, social media, and youth-facing resources
  • Collaborate with internal teams, partners, and subject matter experts to develop high-quality content
  • Support partnership development and engagement initiatives that advance knowledge translation
  • Stay current on trends and best practices in knowledge mobilization and share insights to improve KHP’s content and impact

The qualifications

  • Master’s degree in health, Social Work, Counselling Psychology, or a related field, with experience overseeing complex projects
  • Knowledge of the child, youth, and social services sectors
  • 2–3 years of clinical experience providing counselling to young people
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in the social services sector, including at least 2 years in knowledge translation activities
  • Strong understanding of social work theories, including Single Session models, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, and Crisis Theories
  • Ability to translate academic and clinical information into plain language for diverse audiences
  • Excellent written, verbal, research, organizational, analytical, and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other standard computer tools; experience with content management systems or project management software is an asset
  • Experience creating content for websites or social media is an asset
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders
  • A solution-minded, creative approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to balance big-picture priorities with detail-oriented project work
