
Circles Co-Lead
Reporting to the Vice-President, the Circles Co-Leads are responsible for advancing Lean In Vancouver’s Circles strategy and ensuring high-quality implementation across the network. The role focuses on creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where members can connect, develop career-enhancing skills, share perspectives, and engage with inspiring stories, while also strengthening awareness of the Lean In Vancouver brand and amplifying women’s voices in the workplace.
This role carries direct ownership of defined deliverables, with the expectation of sharing regular progress updates with the Vice-President, and occasionally with the Co-Presidents. The successful candidate will maintain consistent engagement and momentum throughout their term; and, communicate proactively to drive programs forward, flag challenges, and seek support when needed.

Responsibilities
- Launch and lead one Lean In Circle of your own, with responsibility for sustaining the Circle for a minimum of six months. The Circle’s theme is of your choice, pending final approval of the VP; however, it should also align with Lean In’s mission and values and intentionally create a learning-oriented, inclusive environment that fosters connection and growth among members.
- Lead overall circles engagement for Lean In Vancouver, driving growth through an increase in the number of circles established and member participation each program year.
- Build relationships and collaborate with other Lean In Canada Circles Co-Leads through quarterly committee meetings to learn best practices and insights for managing their respective circles programs.
- Identify, assess, and recommend relevant topics and content ideas to Lean In Vancouver, ensuring alignment with the needs and interests of the community.

- Demonstrated ability to initiate, launch, and sustain programs or initiatives.
- This role requires a highly self-motivated and proactive leader who takes initiative, follows through independently.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills to engage community members, stakeholders, and partners.

Time Commitment
- 3-4 hours per week: Our volunteer hours are project driven, so the hours may vary throughout the year. The estimated time commitment below reflects the maximum anticipated hours.
- Quarterly 1:1 with the VP to discuss your portfolio.
- Monthly virtual Vancouver team meetings
- Semi-annual team strategy meetings: This is typically hosted in person in downtown Vancouver. Each meeting is approximately 2 hours followed by an optional team lunch social.
- Organize meetings for their own Circle, ideally once every two months.
- Virtual Circles event, at least once per year.
- Lead quarterly check-in meetings with external Circle leads.
- Attendance at network events led by the Events Team is not required, unless there is a brief Circles-related segment (typically 5–15 minutes) embedded in the program. In such cases, the Circles Co-Lead is expected to attend only to deliver the Circles presentation.
- Quarterly committee meeting with Circles Co-Leads from other city networks across Canada
- Team social, usually twice per year (optional)
