Chief Financial Officer - Community Mental Health Nonprofit
Oxford + Richmond is proud to partner with one of Toronto’s leading community mental health organizations in the search for a mission-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This executive will steward a stable, service-oriented finance function that enables high-impact programs across the city. Reporting to the CEO and serving on the Executive Leadership Team, the CFO provides clear and timely decision support to program leaders and the Board, while upholding a values-based, client-centred culture.
Role at a glance
Lead budgeting (annual & multi-year), forecasting, financial reporting, audit, cash/treasury, internal controls, and enterprise risk.
Ensure accurate and compliant funder reporting, and maintain strong relationships with auditors, banks, and external partners.
Deliver board-ready analyses, scenario planning, and performance dashboards to guide strategy and resource allocation.
Coach and develop a seven-person finance team, reinforcing service quality, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.
Ideal candidate
CPA with ~10+ years of progressive leadership, ideally in nonprofit/healthcare/social services.
Exceptional communicator who translates complex financials into actionable insights for executives, program leaders, and the Board.
Values-driven leader with high EQ; champions equity, inclusion, and client-centred service delivery.
Comfortable advancing modernization of the finance function while preserving stability and service quality.
