About Peel Children’s Aid Foundation

Peel Children’s Aid Foundation raises critical funds to support innovative and urgently needed programs and services for the most vulnerable children, youth, and families in the Region of Peel. As the fundraising arm of Peel CAS, we partner with the agency and the Peel community to provide safety, stability, and opportunity so that every child has the chance to thrive.

This is a pivotal moment in the Foundation’s evolution, and we are seeking a strategic, mission-driven, and compassionate leader to oversee day-to-day operations and guide the organization’s growth and impact.

The CEO will play a defining role in shaping the future of PCAF. The CEO will help shape a new chapter of growth, supercharging our fundraising, deepening community partnerships, and building a sustainable foundation that ensures children, youth and families in Peel have the resources they deserve.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Governance

  • Act as the chief architect of organizational growth, shaping long-term revenue models and positioning the Foundation as a leading philanthropic partner for children, youth and families in Peel.
  • Provide visionary leadership and develop long-term strategic plans aligned with PCAF’s mission in partnership with Peel CAS.
  • Work closely with the Board of Directors and Peel CAS Leadership to support strong governance and organizational excellence.
  • Lead annual planning, performance metrics, and organizational growth initiatives.

Fundraising, Stakeholder & Donor Stewardship

  • Lead strategies to grow annual revenue beyond $2M+ through major gifts, corporate partnerships, community engagement, and innovative fundraising initiatives.
  • Cultivate and steward meaningful relationships with donors, stakeholders, community partners, and corporate supporters.
  • Oversee donor and stakeholder engagement, recognition, and impact reporting to ensure transparency, accountability, and strong long-term relationships.
  • Create a fundraising 5 yr long term plan to ensure the success of the foundation with a goal of increasing annual fundraising to $10M

Operations & Financial Management

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial stewardship, and compliance.
  • Implement sound operational processes, risk management, and policy development.
  • Ensure transparency and accountability across all aspects of the Foundation.
  • Oversee marketing, communications and branding for fundraising.

Team & Culture Leadership

  • Lead, inspire, and support a small but dedicated team.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive environment grounded in respect, compassion, and purpose.
  • Engage volunteers and partners to amplify the Foundation’s impact.

Community & Sector Engagement

  • Serve as the chief ambassador for the Foundation.
  • Strengthen partnerships with Peel CAS, government agencies, community organizations, and corporate partners.
  • Increase the Foundation’s visibility, presence, and brand in the community.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate leads with humility, courage, and integrity, someone who builds trust easily and fosters strong, collaborative relationships with staff, the Board, donors, and community partners. They understand the diversity of the Peel community, the unique identities of the three municipalities and are energized by engaging across cultures, sectors, and communities. They combine strategic vision with a hands-on approach, balancing big-picture thinking with the ability to execute in a growing, entrepreneurial environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven successful leadership experience in philanthropy, fundraising and working in foundations.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing fundraising strategies, especially major gifts and recurring fundraising strategies, including related marketing and communications.
  • Strong financial literacy and operational management experience.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and public speaking skills.
  • Strategic thinker who leads with empathy, integrity, vision and business acumen.
  • Post-secondary education in business, social services, public administration, or related discipline is an asset, but strong experience in fundraising and leadership matters more than formal credentials
  • CFRE designation is an asset, but equivalent experience in major gifts and fundraising leadership is strongly valued. Candidates may be supported to pursue CFRE within an agreed-upon timeframe.

  • Salary Range: $125,000–$145,000, commensurate with experience
