
Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)
YSSN is seeking an accomplished and strategic Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to provide executive leadership across the agency’s corporate service functions, strengthening the systems, people practices, and infrastructure that enable high-quality service delivery. Reporting directly to the Executive Director and partnering with the Senior Leadership team, the CAO provides enterprise-wide leadership across Finance, Human Resources, Procurement and Contracts, Communications and Administration, Facilities, and Information Technology, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and long-term strategic objectives.
The successful candidate will ensure the organization has the governance, processes, and operational capacity needed to support high-quality programs and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic and Organizational Leadership
- Provide enterprise leadership for integrated financial and administrative systems that support current operations and future growth.
- Contribute to organizational strategy and planning as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
- Oversee agency-wide operational practices and provide timely reporting on financial health and operating conditions to the Executive Director and Board.
Finance and Corporate Services
- Lead financial planning and management activities, including annual budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial analysis, and audit preparation.
- Ensure strong accounting controls, fiscal stewardship, and compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, contracts, funding requirements and best practices.
- Oversee procurement, contract management, risk management, and related corporate functions.
Human Resources Leadership
- Develop and implement HR strategies that support employee engagement, strengthen culture, communication, accountability, retention, and performance.
- Advise the Executive Director on workforce risks and strategic HR issues.
- Ensure HR priorities, align with agency goals and needs.
Communications, Facilities, and Technology
- Hold accountability for Communications and Administration outcomes including administrative/program support services and the annual communications strategy.
- Oversee facilities planning and projects to support safe and efficient operations.
- Lead IT strategy and governance to support safe, reliable, and secure operations.
Stakeholder Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with auditors, financial institutions, vendors, government funders, and other external stakeholders.
- Represent YSSN with community partners, sector organizations, and other constituents as required.
Qualifications
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- Master's degree (MBA, MPA, or equivalent) is considered an asset
- Minimum 10 years of progressive financial planning and management experience combined with progressive responsibility for the overall administrative affairs of a not-for-profit organization
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior strategic leadership role, with demonstrated responsibility for multiple corporate services functions and a proven track record in business development, organizational growth, and operational excellence.
- Experience in a public sector setting in an organization, preferably with Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services and Ontario Health funding
- Proficiency in advanced financial modeling and forecasting tools
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Solid understanding of platform solutions and enabling technology
- Demonstrated partner-centric approach, including understanding and meeting the needs of internal and external constituents
* The successful applicant will be required to provide a police clearance that meets agency standards
* A valid G Drivers License, access to a reliable vehicle and adequate insurance coverage for business responsibilities, OR access to reliable transportation.
