Care to Speak Peer Support is Looking for Volunteers

Care to Speak is a peer-based phone, text, and webchat service providing free and confidential support to healthcare and social support workers in BC.

Care to Speak is searching for individuals who have current or previous experience working in either the healthcare or social services field and would be interested in volunteering their time to provide peer support to our service users.

Interested applicants should be empathetic, non-judgmental, open-minded, open to feedback, have access to – and are comfortable operating – a computer, respect the confidentiality of others, and can commit to volunteering 4 hours per week for a 1-year term.

Interested parties must complete a FREE comprehensive online training course prior to starting their role. The program coordinator and quality assurance coordinator will provide ongoing support to all volunteers.

Applicants must be residing in BC and over the age of 19. Applicants must provide two references and complete a criminal record check.

Practicum students in a Health Care or Social Service related course are also welcome to apply.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please apply on our Care to Speak website;

https://careforcaregivers.ca/peer-support-service/

This is a FULLY REMOTE position – a stable internet connection, computer and a quiet confidential area in your home is required for all interactions with our Service Users.

One of our Care to Speak coordinators will be in touch with all eligible applicants.
