NABORS is an organization of people who want the world to be a place where all people, including people with disabilities, live in inclusive community. We are dedicated to supporting people with physical and developmental disabilities to have rich and full lives in community and have control over their lives.

NABORS is a community of people living with a disability in Toronto and our circles of support. Our circles of support are made up of our friends and families who freely give their time to assist us to make informed decisions, act on choices, manage our paid supports and feel safe. Members are supported to live in the homes of our choice and be fully included in the community.

NABORS is seeking a Temporary Full Time Community Support Worker who will assist supported members in a hybrid support fashion (with members in person on Mondays and Fridays, virtually the rest of the week). Additionally, the Community Support Worker will work with core staff to plan various community events. The Community Support Worker will be hired for 30 hours per week for 8 weeks starting June 22nd, 2026.

The Community Support Worker provides support by:

  • Spending time getting to know supported members and their interests.
  • Working with supported members and staff to plan for community opportunities to pursue their areas of interest and goals, always keeping in mind safety.
  • Maintaining agency documentation
  • Assisting in relationship building by the development of and support to natural relationships within the member’s family, friends, and community
  • Creatively supporting core staff to plan for and host various community events such as social gatherings (ie. Bingo, games nights, ideas for a fall social, etc.)

Assisting with the finding of, and participation in, valued roles for the member within his/her home, cooperative living arrangements and community life

NOTE: ** This will be a hybrid support position, but work will mostly be in person. This will be with supported members in their homes, their communities, and working in the shared workspace we use and/or with work from home (80/20). You will need to have access to a computer and have reliable internet.

Payrate is 21.00 an hour.

Job Requirements:

  • Comfort with Traveling within the city to different locations.
  • A private location to engage in zoom / facetime calls with supported members (if you do not, please let us know and we can accommodate)
  • Laptop or Ipad to participate in virtual meetings via zoom, facetime, etc.
  • Reliable internet and telephone
  • The hiring is conditional upon clearing a Vulnerable Sector Police check.
  • Vaccination (3 doses) against COVID is required. Proof of vaccination will be required.

Due to the nature of the funding criteria, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Between 15 and 30 years of age as of June 22, 2026
  • Is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and;
  • Is legally entitled to work according to the relevant Ontario legislation and regulations
  • have 2 doses of the covid vaccine and documentation
  • Willing to attain Emergency first aid/ CPR and a vulnerable sector check
