Call for MSF Canada Board members (volunteer)/Appel de candidatures — membres du conseil d'administration de MSF Canada (bénévole)

On the 31st of May and 1st of June 2026 MSF Canada (MSF-C) will be holding its Annual General Assembly (AGA). One element of the AGA is the election of new board members by association members in good standing. During the 2026 AGA, we will be seeking to fill three (3) vacancies. All the positions have 3-year terms ending in June 2029.

• One (1) position is reserved for a medical profile*
• Two (2) positions can be held by a medical or non-medical profile.

*Medical profile:

-As per Art 31.15 of the MSF International Statutes, ‘medical background’ means all professions that have, during initial training and later practice, a practitioner-patient relationship.
-As per the MSF-C by-laws, ‘medical background’ means an individual that has practiced in one (1) or more professions that have, during initial training and later practice, a practitioner-patient relationship.

The deadline for application to be considered for this upcoming elect is 12:00pm EST (noon) on Friday the 10th of April 2026.

Skills Sought

The MSF Canada Board is seeking motivated, collaborative individuals who are committed to safeguarding and advancing the interests of MSF Canada.

Individuals with skills in governance, finance, fundraising, human resources, as well as bilingual (Eng/Fr) candidates, are strongly encouraged to apply. 

We particularly welcome applications from candidates who can represent the communities we work with and seek to assist, or with demonstrated experience and proficiency in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI). 

Who May Apply?

In accordance with our bylaws, every Director shall be an individual who :

• is not an undischarged bankrupt
• has not been an ineligible individual under the Income Tax Act (Canada)
• is not an employee of MSF Canada
• is not on the Board of Directors of another MSF section

Candidates do not have to be a member of the MSF Canada Association.

Time Commitment
Board members should expect to commit an average of 5-10 hours a week. In addition to other responsibilities, tasks include attending virtual and in-person Board meetings (these may fall during typical business hours and weekends).

MSF Canada tiendra son assemblée générale annuelle (AGA) les 31 Mai et 1er Juin 2026. Un élément de l’AGA est l'élection de nouveaux membres du conseil d'administration par les membres en règle de l'association. Durant l’AGA 2026, nous chercherons à pourvoir trois (3) postes sur le conseil d’administration.
Ces 3 postes ont des mandats de trois ans, se terminant en juin 2029.

• Un (1) poste est réservé pour des personnes ayant un profil médical*
• Deux (2) postes peuvent être occupés par une personne ayant un profil médical ou non médical

*Profil médical :

-Conformément à l’article 31.15 des statuts internationaux de MSF, on entend par formation médicale toutes les professions qui ont, pendant la formation initiale et la pratique ultérieure, une relation patient-médecin.

-Conformément aux statuts de MSF-C, on entend par "formation médicale" une personne qui exerce une (1) ou plusieurs professions ayant, au cours de la formation initiale et de la pratique ultérieure, une relation praticien-patient.

La date limite pour postuler afin d'être considéré.e.s pour ce cycle électoral est le vendredi 10 avril 2026, à 12 h (midi), heure de l'Est.

Compétences recherchées

Le conseil d'administration est à la recherche de personnes motivées et collaboratives qui ont à cœur de protéger et de faire progresser les intérêts de MSF Canada.

Nous encourageons vivement les personnes ayant des compétences en gouvernance organisationnelle, finance, collecte de fonds, ressources humaines, ainsi que les candidat.e.s bilingues (anglais-français) à postuler.

Qui peut pe postuler?

Conformément à nos règlements, chaque administratrice ou administrateur doit être une personne qui :

• n’a pas le statut de failli non libéré
• n’a pas été un particulier non admissible en vertu de la Loi de l’impôt sur le revenu (Canada)
• n’est pas un ou une employée de MSF Canada
• ne siège pas au conseil d’administration d’une autre section de MSF

Les candidat.e.s n’ont pas besoin d’être membre de l’Association de MSF Canada.

Investissement en temps

Les membres du conseil d’administration doivent s’attendre à consacrer en moyenne de 5 à 10 heures par semaine. En plus des autres exigences énoncées dans la description de travail (voir ci-dessous), les tâches comprennent la participation à des réunions virtuelles et en personne du conseil d’administration (celles-ci peuvent tomber pendant les heures d’ouverture et les fins de semaine typiques).
