Role Overview:
CityKidz is seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join our team as Bus Logistics Support Volunteers. As a Bus Logistics Support Volunteer, you will be part of an energetic, and highly rewarding team, as you ensure safety for kids on CityKidz Saturdays. This role is key to ensuring that logistics of the day run smoothly, particularly with supporting children in boarding and exiting the bus, as well as directing traffic so that buses can park and depart the premises safely.
During your shift on a Saturday, you will be responsible for directing volunteers, helping bus drivers navigate within the parking lot, and assisting with any additional needs that arise.

Responsibilities:

Ensure the safety of all children at CityKidz, particularly during loading and unloading activities involving buses
-
Assist in transporting items from the workroom to the buses, ensuring that all necessary materials for community programming are properly placed on the buses
-
Direct traffic to facilitate the safe parking, loading, and unloading of buses, maintaining order and safety in the surrounding area
-
Serve as a positive and encouraging role model in speech and action, fostering a supportive and uplifting environment for other community members and neighbors

Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum age 16+ (required)

Strong communication skills (required)

Experience working in fast paced environment (preferred)

Good judgment and able to take initiative

High level of alertness and ability to pay attention to details, ensuring the safety and well-being of children during transportation activities

Ability to quickly and effectively solve problems that may arise during transportation activities, making sound decisions to ensure the smooth operation of logistics

Must be physically able to walk and stand for long periods and access buses
-
Occasionally able to lift approximately 50lbs, demonstrating sufficient strength and mobility to handle tasks related to loading and unloading items onto buses

Time Commitment:
-
Time Commitment: Minimum four (4) month commitment is required, for at least 1x a month but preferably biweekly Saturdays through March – June and September- December

Shifts: Shifts: 7:00am-11:00am or 11:00am-3:00pm
Work Environment & Additional Details:

Environment: outdoors, directing buses in parking lot, and in theatre
