Unpaid Volunteer Position

Are you an active, former or in-training accountant or bookkeeper with a love for cats and dogs? New Collar Collective, a Toronto-based 100% volunteer-run non-profit animal rescue, is looking for a Bookkeeper who would like to make a difference in the lives of animals in need.

The time commitment would be approx. 2-5 hours per month. The Bookkeeper will report to the Treasurer/Finance Committee and be appointed by the Board of Directors.

Commitment: 6 months minimum

Compensation: Volunteer

Applicants must:

  • Be able to commit to completing the organization’s bookkeeping monthly within a reasonable time.

  • Be proficient in Quickbooks.

  • Complete data entry, collect transactions, track debits, complete bank reconciliations, post journal entries, and maintain & monitor financial records.

  • Request & organize invoice payments.

  • Strong organizational skills & the ability to time manage independently.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Understand the generally accepted accounting principles and have a the ability to apply those appropriately.
