Board Recruitment
Across Boundaries is a mental health centre that provides a range of mental health and addictions support and services to individuals from racialized and Black communities in the GTA. We have a holistic approach to mental health care and operate within an anti-racism/anti-oppression and resisting anti-Black/anti-indigenous racism frameworks. These frameworks focus on providing opportunities to respond to systemic barriers, advocate for the inclusion of traditionally and historically silenced voices at decision-making tables, and strive for change at the individual, organizational and systemic levels. • CEO/Executive Leadership
• Board Governance
• Strategic Initiatives/Strategic Planning
• Government Relations, Health Care Systems, Ontario Health
• Community Connections and Community Development
• Knowledge and Understanding of Anti-Racism/Anti-Oppression/Confronting Anti-Black
racism and Anti-Indigenous racism
• Legal
• Human Resources/Labour Relations
• Finance/Accounting
The Board also encourages applicants that represent:
• Lived and Living experience in mental health/illness and as Caregivers
• The 2SLGBQT++ community
• Youth and Older Adults
• Racialized Communities (i.e. South Asian, East Asian, South East Asian, Latino, Middle
Eastern etc.)
• Indigenous Communities
The Board may meet between six to ten times a year; additionally, members are expected to join
board committees which may meet monthly or as needed.
