Second Chance Sanctuary (SCS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a safe, loving environment for animals in need while promoting animal welfare, education, and community engagement. We are seeking passionate, experienced, and committed individuals to join our Board of Directors and help guide the organization’s growth, governance, and operations.

We are hiring for 12 board positions, each with unique responsibilities:

1. Board President – Leads the board, facilitates meetings, sets agendas, oversees board governance, and collaborates with the Founder & CEO on strategic initiatives.

2. Vice President – Supports the President, steps in as needed, and manages special projects or initiatives.

3. Secretary – Maintains official records, takes meeting minutes, and ensures documentation and compliance are accurate and up-to-date.

4. Treasurer – Oversees budgets, financial reporting, and compliance with nonprofit accounting standards.

5. Fundraising Director – Plans and executes fundraising campaigns, builds relationships with donors and sponsors, and ensures revenue streams for SCS initiatives.

6. Marketing Director – Manages publicity, social media, newsletters, PR, and branding efforts for the organization and its events.

7. Operations Director – Oversees daily operations, implements policies, and supports strategic planning across the organization.

8. Legal & Compliance Director – Ensures compliance with nonprofit laws, manages contracts, and provides legal guidance as needed.

9. Event Planner – Plans and executes events, including our signature Stars for Second Chances Gala, manages vendors, logistics, and guest experience.

10. Technology Director – Oversees website, online donation platforms, IT tools, and technology solutions to support operations and communications.

11. Volunteer Director – Recruits and manages volunteers, organizes community outreach, and supports staff coordination.

12. Executive Assistant – Provides direct support to the Founder & CEO, managing schedules, communications, and project coordination.

Applicants may indicate which role(s) they are interested in when applying. Experience in nonprofit leadership, governance, event planning, fundraising, or animal welfare is highly preferred.
