About the Re-Seasoning Coalition

The Re-Seasoning Coalition is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the representation and advancement of Black Canadians across all levels of the foodservice industry, through research, programming, and community engagement.

For over five years, we have supported a growing network of national foodservice organizations, including chain restaurants, suppliers, and the businesses in between, helping them become best-in-class companies of the future. We aim to continually ”reseason” the industry to ensure everyone in it has an opportunity to reach their full potential.

Our work is guided by four core values:

Community – building belonging and amplifying the lived experiences of those in the industry;

Equity – developing programs grounded in fairness and continuous learning; Innovation – designing people-first, future-forward approaches to anti-racism solutions; and

Expertise – leading with strategies informed by research, expert opinion, and personal perspectives.

Join our Board of Directors

Do you find joy in supporting growing organizations focused on systems change? Do you believe in the power of community and collective advancement to transform industries and sectors from the inside out? Are you passionate about advancing equity and supporting the creation of meaningful opportunities for Black and racialized people in Canada?

The Re-Seasoning Coalition is seeking dedicated and driven individuals to join our board of directors (3 Directors at large). We are looking for people who bring experience in areas such as fundraising, marketing, financial/legal management, partnership development, and/or community engagement, and who are deeply aligned with our values.

If this sounds like you, we invite you to apply to join the Re-Seasoning Coalition’s board of directors.

About the Commitment

Length of involvement: A board member commits to serve at least a one-year term. Terms can be renewed at our annual general meeting.

Time commitment: 5 hours per month to support board & committee work. Board meetings are held quarterly and virtually. Committee meetings’ frequency may vary depending on the committee.

This is a really great opportunity if you:

Have a passion for advancing equity and justice, while supporting a small but growing organization

Have the availability and capacity to attend board meetings and engage in committee work (fundraising, marketing, finance, etc.)

Share our values of community, equity, innovation, and expertise, and believe in the power of the foodservice industry to create meaningful opportunities and belonging for Black Canadians

Experience in the foodservice industry is an asset but not a requirement!
