About the South Granville Seniors Centre (SGSC)
The South Granville Seniors Centre is a vibrant, inclusive nonprofit organization that provides programs, meals, and support services to older adults in Vancouver. Our mission is to foster social connection, wellness, and lifelong learning in a welcoming community space.
Position: Board Member (Volunteer Role)
We are seeking passionate and community-minded individuals to join our Board of Directors. Board members help guide the Centre’s strategic direction, ensure strong governance, and support initiatives that enhance the quality of life for seniors.
Key Responsibilities:
Attend monthly Board meetings (in-person or virtual)
Contribute to policy development, fundraising, and strategic planning
Serve as an ambassador for the Centre within the community
Support the Executive Director and staff as needed on special projects or committees
Who We’re Looking For:
Individuals who are collaborative, compassionate, and committed to community service
Experience in law and/or accounting is an asset
Previous nonprofit or governance experience is helpful but not required
